SINEAD O'CONNOr has revealed how she has 'felt like a goddess' since tying the knot with Steve Cooney last month.

The singer also said she plans to throw a party to celebrate her third marriage - on their first wedding anniversary.

The mother of four told ryan Tubridy on 2fm yesterday that she is blissfully happy after her long friendship with Mr Cooney turned into love this year.

She said: 'I'm being treated like a goddess.

It's great. I got married in Birr in Co. Offaly on July 22. We just wanted it to be very quiet. It was just myself and Steve, and two witnesses. We're going to have a huge do on our first anniversary.

'I've known him since I was 14. We didn't see each other for about 20 years.

Then about seven years ago we met again and we were just best buddies. Then it grew into something different.' The 43-year-old, who jets off to Sardinia this weekend for a concert, told Tubridy she loves being a mother.

She said: 'Jake is 23 and working as a chef. roisin is 14 and just got her first boyfriend. Shane is six and Yeshua is three. They are so much fun.' The singer told listeners that she is never away from her children for more than three days at a time. 'They call it the Van Morrison method,' she said. 'I only ever go for three days and I'm back for a week or ten days.' The singer also spoke about her bond with Muhammad Ali since meeting him at the Special Olympics in soccer jerseys 2003. She said: 'Myself and my son Jake escorted him to the Special Olympics and spent the evening with him there. Muhammad Ali is a walking angel. Since I was tiny he was my biggest hero.' Miss O'Connor is auctioning off her prized possession, an autographed tablecloth given to her by the boxer, in aid of Goal's fund for the flood victims in Pakistan.
